The Vintage Bronze St. Francis Cross is worked on both faces. One side sets a bust of St. Francis in profile, tonsured, bearded, haloed, in a roundel at the crossing, with lilies laid along the arms and down the shaft. In the panel above him two hands cross beneath a small cross: the arms of Christ and of Francis together, marked with the wounds they share.
The other face is filled edge to edge with the blessing of St. Francis, cast in gothic minuscule with the contractions of the original: Benedicat tibi Dominus et custodiat te... et det tibi pacem. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may he show his face to you and have mercy on you; may he turn his countenance toward you and give you peace. Roses fill the arms and a single lily rises on the shaft.
The St. Francis cross was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
