The Vintage Bronze St. Christopher Medal with Motor Car puts an ancient story and a modern road on one piece. The front shows a bearded, hooded man wading forward with both hands braced on a long staff, the Christ Child riding high on his shoulder, the rim around him filled with small raised stars and a crescent moon.
Christopher carried the Child across a swollen river and found him heavier than the whole world, because the world's maker was on his shoulders; ever since, he has been the saint travellers ask to see them home. The reverse asks that same protection in the terms of the original's own day: an early open touring car with three passengers out on the road, a church and its tall spire on the skyline behind, fields running away to either side. There is no lettering on either face, and none is needed.
The medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
