The outline of the Vintage Bronze Shaped Madonna Rosary Center is a clean hexagon with the shoulders clipped back, holding a plain circular field within which a veiled Madonna appears in profile. Her face is turned to the left and inclined, the mantle drawn deeply over the brow and falling in a heavy fold across the shoulder. Nearly the whole of the piece is given to that one bowed profile, which is why it registers so clearly.
The geometry of the frame against the softness of the veil is what makes the design, and it belongs to the period when devotional metalwork began simplifying its outlines while keeping its imagery traditional. The Madonna is not shown here as queen or as intercessor but simply at prayer, her head bent. That is the attitude of her fiat, the answer she gave the angel, and it is the attitude the rosary asks of the person holding it.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
