The Vintage Bronze Sacred Heart and Precious Blood Ring gives its whole crown to one image: a heart bound about with a crown of thorns, drops falling from it in a row, and a small cross set with rays rising above. The shank is not a plain band but a run of round beads that carries back from the heart on both sides, so the ring reads a little like a rosary closed into a circle.
The thorns name the Sacred Heart, the love that endured the Passion, and the falling drops name the devotion to the Precious Blood, which honours the cost of that love rather than its instruments. The two have long been kept together, and older devotional jewellery joined them in exactly this way.
