The Vintage Bronze Pardon Crucifix gathers three devotions onto one piece. The body of the cross is cut in deep scrolling foliage, the plaque above the corpus is lettered JESUS NAZARENUS REX JUDÆORUM, and two small medals stand at the ends of the arms, the Miraculous Medal on one side and a St. Benedict medal on the other.
The reverse is where it speaks. A flaming heart stands in a burst of rays at the crossing, with FATHER on one arm and FORGIVE THEM on the other, and down the shaft BEHOLD THIS HEART WHICH HAS SO LOVED MEN. The first words are Christ's own from the cross; the second are those he spoke to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Together they make this a crucifix about mercy asked for and mercy offered, which is why generations have kept the Pardon Crucifix for the pardon of their own sins and the conversion of those they love.
The crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
