Almost every surface of the Vintage Bronze Openwork Scrolled Crucifix is worked or cut away. The arms are pierced with scrolled voids and end in shell-and-scroll terminals, the lower arm widens into a fan-shaped foot, and a crown-like flourish rises above the titulus. Against all that movement the corpus reads simply and clearly, which is the point of the design.
