The Vintage Bronze Open Frame Rosary Center with Medallion is cut through in two large openings, an arch above and a V below, with a small round medallion suspended at the middle of the frame between them. The front is bordered all around with cast leaves and blossom, and the back is left as a plain, pitted ground, exactly as the antique original was finished.
Each face of the medallion carries a haloed bust with long hair and a raised hand. The halo is the oldest mark in Christian art for a life given over to God, and the raised hand its gesture of blessing, so the little medallion says a great deal in very small compass. What makes the piece, though, is the frame: pierced casting this fine at seven eighths of an inch is difficult work, and the openings let the beads and the light read straight through it.
This rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
