The Vintage Bronze Madonna Rosary Center is built around a single strong image: the Madonna veiled and seen in three-quarter profile, her eyes lowered, her mantle falling in deep folds across the disc behind her. The head is high in relief and the veil cut with real depth, so even at this size the face holds its shadow. Beneath her the frame draws in to a pointed leaf-and-heart form that closes the design.
The lowered eyes are the whole of the portrait. This is Mary as the Gospel leaves her, keeping all these things and pondering them in her heart, and it is why so many rosary centers were cut this way rather than with a crown. The center is the fixed point of a rosary, the place the hand returns to at the end of every circuit of beads, and a face like this one rewards that returning.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
