The border is what gives the Vintage Bronze Lace-Edge Rosary Center its name. A ring of overlapping petal-like loops is cut clean through the metal all the way around, so the edge really does read as lace, and the openings are worked into the design rather than added on afterwards. Inside sits a plain round medallion, slightly domed.
The medallion carries a haloed bust, long hair falling to the shoulders and one hand raised toward the breast, in the attitude used for the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There is no lettering anywhere on it. What makes the piece is the frame: openwork this fine at five eighths of an inch is difficult casting and rarer than it looks, and because the border is pierced the light and the beads come through it, so the center never sits as a solid blank in the run of the rosary.
This rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
