The Vintage Bronze Jerusalem Cross Pendant closes each arm with a bar, so that the outline reads as five crosses in one, the great cross at the center with four small ones carried out to the corners. Quatrefoils are cut clean through one face between beaded rosettes and raised lozenges, lightening a cross that would otherwise sit heavy.
The reverse is lettered JERUSALEM straight across the crossbar, with S-scrolls climbing the shaft above and below. The five crosses have long been read as the five wounds of Christ, and as the Gospel going out from Jerusalem to the four quarters of the earth. Pilgrims have carried this pattern home from the Holy Land for centuries, and it remains the plainest way to wear the city itself.
The Jerusalem cross was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
