The Vintage Bronze Holy Spirit Dove Medal is shaped in three lobes, and the dove descends across the whole width of the front, wings spread and head lowered, over a field of small scattered stars with a wheel-like rosette at the foot. The reverse carries an unrolled scroll, its short lines ruled out across the surface above a closing line at the base.
The dove is how Scripture shows the Spirit at the Jordan, coming down and resting on Christ at his baptism, and the Church has kept the image ever since for the third Person of the Trinity: the Advocate promised at the Last Supper, the wind and fire of Pentecost. The trefoil shape says the same thing again without a word, three lobes in one piece. It is a natural gift for a Confirmation.
