The Vintage Bronze Eucharistic Reparation Cross holds a chalice and host marked IHS in a burst of rays at its center, with a small child kneeling in adoration on either side and a spray of flowers down the shaft. It is a Eucharistic piece in the plainest sense: the Blessed Sacrament set at the heart of the cross, and children brought close to it.
The reverse is given over entirely to words. Across the arms and shaft it reads CORAZON DE JESUS QUE NO TENGAS SAGRARIOS SIN NIÑOS Y NIÑAS and PARA ESO VIVEN TUS NIÑOS Y NIÑAS REPARADORES — Heart of Jesus, may you never have tabernacles without boys and girls; for this your boy and girl reparators live. The wording belongs to the Spanish-speaking confraternities of Eucharistic reparation, whose young members promised to keep the Blessed Sacrament company so that no tabernacle would be left alone.
The cross was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
