The Vintage Bronze Celtic Openwork Rosary Ring is made to be worn on the finger or carried in a pocket and told like a decade, the thumb moving around it while the mind stays on the mystery. One face opens into a web of narrow cells pierced clean through the metal; the other is a solid band cut across with close vertical notches that catch the fingertip as they pass.
The pierced, cell-like openwork has the restless interlace quality of insular metalwork, the tradition of the Irish and Scottish monasteries that gave the Church some of its most inventive ornament. A rosary ring is the most portable form the Rosary takes: no beads to tangle, nothing to drop, and a decade always within reach in a waiting room, on a train or in the dark. Because it is cast rather than turned, the outline wanders very slightly and no two come out identical.
This ring was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
