The Vintage Bronze Ave Maria Monogram Rosary Center has no field and no frame. It is the monogram itself, cast openwork, with two mirrored letters curling outward into volutes at the top and crossing at the foot over a small pierced boss. Every stroke is banded with cut lozenges that catch the light along its length.
The interlaced A and M stand for Ave Maria, the angel's greeting to Mary at the Annunciation and the opening words of the prayer said on every bead of the rosary. Setting that monogram where the decades meet marks the whole chaplet as hers. Worked this far into ornament, the letters read as pure line before they read as language, which is exactly how a devotional monogram is meant to work: recognized first, and deciphered afterward.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
