Edited by F. J. Sheed
The Irish Way presents the lives and legacies of eighteen great Roman Catholics of Ireland. Under the sure-handed editorial guidance of F. J. Sheed, the essays collected in this volume combine to show what Catholicism is in the Irish people. These studies are not truncated biographies but portraits whose subjects were simply—in the words of Sheed—“good Catholics, who were Irish, from whom, therefore, something might be learnt of Irish Catholicity.”
From Saint Patrick to Matt Talbot, from Theobald Mathew to Margaret Mary Hallahan, all the men and women in this book served the Church faithfully and with great zeal. The contributors to The Irish Way include such luminaries of twentieth-century Irish-Catholic letters as Alice Curtayne, Vincent McNabb, O.P., Philip Hughes, and Sheed himself.
Every nation has its own way of being Catholic, for the life of the Faith does not destroy the natural life and take its place, but elevates the natural life to a new level of activity.… And so in Ireland. Of the people in this book, not one could possibly be anything but Irish. (F. J. Sheed)
F. J. Sheed (1897–1981) was a writer, publisher, and speaker, widely recognized as one of the most important Christian intellectuals of the twentieth century. With his wife, Maisie Ward, he founded the publishing house of Sheed & Ward, which revived the Catholic literary movement and promoted innumerable intellectual, literary, and artistic treasures of the Catholic Church.

We love to make you smile! 😊
I've purchased several items from you folks. The quality is unbelievable and the service matches that quality. The prices are so much lower than a standard jewelry store and again the quality is way better. They are outstanding as a gift. Thank you all.
Purchased a rosary for my nephew's confirmation. I had some questions along the way and customer service was very receptive and kind... Hard to find such good customer service these days. It was very refreshing and very much appreciated!
I have ordered a few things from Catholic Shop, including medals with engraving and candles. As for the medals and engraving, super job and very well made and dear to my heart. I can not say enough about Catholic Shop, their customer service and guarantee.
