Lebanese Maronite monk and hermit (1828-1898), of Bekaa Kafra; entered the Maronite Lebanese Order at 23, ordained 1859, lived as hermit at Annaya for the last 23 years of his life. Phenomena of luminescence at his tomb after death attracted pilgrims from all confessions; first Lebanese saint canonized in modern times (1977 by Paul VI).
