Greek apologist and bishop (1st-2nd century, d. c. 129), traditionally a disciple of the apostles, Bishop of Athens. Author of the lost "Apology to Hadrian" (the earliest known Christian apology), of which Eusebius preserved a brief fragment defending the reality of Christ's miracles by living memory of those healed. Pre-Congregation.
