Bohemian abbot (c. 970-1053), of noble Bohemian family, secular priest and hermit who founded the Slavonic-rite monastery of Sázava with the support of Duke Oldřich (1032). The community kept the Old Church Slavonic liturgy in Bohemia for nearly a century after his death. Canonized 1204 by Innocent III.
