Scottish-Welsh bishop (c. 518-c. 603), illegitimate son of a Brython princess; founded a community at Glasgow on the river Clyde and was its first bishop. After exile in Wales (where he founded St. Asaph) returned to Strathclyde and converted King Rederech. Patron of Glasgow, whose four civic emblems (the bird, tree, bell, and fish) all derive from his Life. Pre-Congregation.
