Spanish religious sister and foundress of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Holy Angels, dedicated to providing homes and companionship for women living alone in poverty. Orphaned young, she had a leg amputated in childhood and walked thereafter on crutches, knowing personally the loneliness her institute would address. Her congregation continues to operate residences in Spain and Latin America.
