Irish abbot and visionary (c. 597-c. 650), founded a monastery at Cnobheresburg in East Anglia under King Sigeberht, then crossed to Gaul where he founded Lagny near Paris. Famous for visions of the afterlife (Bede records them in detail) that influenced medieval visionary literature down to Dante. Pre-Congregation.
