Gallic virgin martyr of Agen (c. 290-c. 303), young girl tortured to death under Diocletian by being roasted on a brazen bed and beheaded; her relics were translated to Conques in the 9th century, where the spectacular gold reliquary-statue "Sainte Foy de Conques" became a major pilgrimage attraction on the road to Santiago.
