Italian Franciscan friar (c. 1217-1274), seventh Minister General of the Franciscans and Cardinal-Bishop of Albano; Doctor of the Church called "Seraphic Doctor," author of the Itinerarium and the Life of St. Francis. Played a leading role at the Second Council of Lyon. Feast July 15.
