First native Korean Catholic priest (1821-1846); educated at Macao, returned to Korea to minister in secret, and was beheaded near Seoul during the Pyong-O Persecution at the age of 25. Patron of Korean clergy; canonized with the 103 Korean Martyrs in 1984. Feast September 20.
