St. Eugene de Mazenod
St. Eugene de Mazenod was a French priest and Bishop of Marseille, aristocrat returned from émigré exile after the Revolution; founded the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1816 to evangelize the rural poor of Provence, a congregation that spread worldwide.
Canonized 1995 by John Paul II.
