The Morning Offering consecrates the day's prayers, works, joys, and sufferings to God through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in union with Christ's sacrifice at every Mass offered throughout the world.
Traditional Form
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world.
I offer them for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart:
the salvation of souls, reparation for sin,
and the reunion of all Christians.
I offer them for the intentions of our bishops
and of all Apostles of Prayer,
and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month.
Amen.
Simple Form
O my God, I offer You all my prayers, works, and sufferings
in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
for the intentions for which He pleads and offers Himself
in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass,
in thanksgiving for Your favors,
in reparation for my offenses,
and for the needs of all mankind.
Amen.
Origin: Associated with the Apostleship of Prayer (now the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network), founded by Jesuits in 1844 to encourage offering daily life to God in union with the Mass.
