The Glory Be, also called the Minor Doxology, is a short hymn of praise to the Holy Trinity. It concludes each decade of the Rosary and each psalm in the Divine Office.
English
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Latin (Gloria Patri)
Gloria Patri, et Filio,
et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio,
et nunc, et semper,
et in saecula saeculorum.
Amen.
Origin: This ancient doxology was in widespread Western use by the 7th century. It affirms Trinitarian faith and the eternity of God.
