Product Details
Designed for the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows, this rosary walks the soul through the seven moments of Mary's deepest grief alongside her Son.
The Seven Sorrows of Mary trace the suffering of the Mother of God alongside her Son: the prophecy of Simeon, the flight into Egypt, the loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple, the meeting on the way to Calvary, the Crucifixion, the receiving of his body from the cross, and the burial. This devotion was promoted by the Servite Order beginning in the 13th century, and Pope Pius VII granted indulgences for the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows in 1815. Each decade is offered for one sorrow, drawing the one who prays into the heart of the Mother who stood beneath the cross.
