French nobleman-hermit (c. 1017-1066), of Champagne; with his friend Walter of Marolles renounced his title and lived as a wandering pilgrim and lay laborer (charcoal-burner, vintner) before settling as a hermit in Salanigo near Vicenza in Italy. Pre-Congregation.
