Mexican foundress (1878-1963), "Madre Lupita," of Guadalajara; co-founder with her spiritual director of the Handmaids of St. Margaret Mary and the Poor (1901), serving the destitute sick. During the Cristero persecution she sheltered priests including the future Cardinal Garibi y Rivera in her infirmary. Canonized 2013 by Francis.
