Also known as Dun Ġorġ, Father George Preca, or the Second Father of Malta.

St. George Preca was the first Maltese saint and founder of the Society of Christian Doctrine, known by its Maltese acronym M.U.S.E.U.M., a society of laymen and laywomen dedicated to teaching the catechism.

For sixty years he formed catechists and taught the Catholic faith to Maltese youth in plain Maltese language at a time when most religious instruction was in Italian. Pope John Paul II called him the 'Second Father of Malta,' after St. Paul who first brought Christianity to the island.
