St. Elizabeth of Hungary was a Hungarian princess, daughter of King Andrew II, married at 14 to Louis IV of Thuringia; widowed at 20, became a Franciscan tertiary at Marburg under Conrad of Marburg, gave away her wealth, and died at 24 nursing the poor in the hospital she founded.
