Religion Without God
Product Details
By Fulton J. Sheen
Religion Without God, first published in 1928, continues Fulton J. Sheen’s God and Intelligence in Modern Philosophy (1925). Taken together, the two are a complete philosophy of religion. The modern mind remains greatly concerned with religion, and yet its concern is coldly theoretical, admitting of no practical sensibility of the relationship between God and man. The result is an emptying of all theological content from religion, reducing it to mere humanism. As a corrective, Sheen first offers a threefold analysis of the ideas behind modern religion: expository, historical, and critical; second, he presents the constructive, intelligible, and natural foundation for religion.
From the pen of a peerless apologist and profound philosopher, Religion Without God is a calm, measured study of the assumptions and arguments of religious thought from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries—concepts and claims still active in the twenty-first century’s project of secularization.
Man in the supernatural state, it is said, needs no Redeemer as in the natural state he needs no God. As a result of this philosophy of self-sufficiency we have the strange modern phenomenon of a religion without God and a Christianity without Christ. (Fulton J. Sheen)
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen (1895–1979) was one of the most renowned Catholic priests of the twentieth century. An eminent scholar, prolific author, and natural entertainer, Sheen provided insight into the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith for millions around the world through his scores of books and countless radio and television programs. His cause for canonization was opened in 2002, and in 2012 Pope Benedict XVI declared him “Venerable.”

We love to make you smile! 😊
I've purchased several items from you folks. The quality is unbelievable and the service matches that quality. The prices are so much lower than a standard jewelry store and again the quality is way better. They are outstanding as a gift. Thank you all.
Purchased a rosary for my nephew's confirmation. I had some questions along the way and customer service was very receptive and kind... Hard to find such good customer service these days. It was very refreshing and very much appreciated!
I have ordered a few things from Catholic Shop, including medals with engraving and candles. As for the medals and engraving, super job and very well made and dear to my heart. I can not say enough about Catholic Shop, their customer service and guarantee.
