The World Mission Rosary — Inspired by Venerable Fulton J. Sheen

One Rosary. The whole world.

In 1951, Venerable Fulton J. Sheen introduced the World Mission Rosary, inviting Catholics to embrace the entire world in prayer. Rather than using a single color throughout, each of its five decades represents a different region of the world—a visual reminder that the Church is universal and that no people are beyond the reach of our prayers.

The Runewood World Mission Rosary preserves Sheen’s distinctive five-color tradition while interpreting it through our own rugged, understated aesthetic.

Each decade is crafted from stained wood in an earthy, subdued interpretation of its traditional missionary color:

Olive Green — Africa
Oxblood — the Americas
Antique White — Europe
French Blue — Oceania
Golden Brown — Asia

Together, the five decades turn the Rosary into a journey around the world. As the beads pass through your fingers, each decade becomes an invitation to look beyond your own life and pray for the conversion, protection, suffering, and needs of people across the globe.

At the heart of this rosary is something especially significant for Runewood: original hardware designed by us and made here in the United States. Both the crucifix and Miraculous Medal centerpiece are exclusive Runewood designs, giving this historic devotion a distinctly Runewood character.
