The left side of this visor clip's vintage design features a raised depiction of St. Christopher carrying the child Jesus across a river. Around the image are the words "St. Christopher Protect Us." On the right side, a raised image of Our Lady of the Highway, her hands folded in prayer, is surrounded by the words "Our Lady of the Highway, Pray For Us."

The tradition of seeking protection from St. Christopher, the patron saint of travelers, is an ancient Catholic practice. Dating back to the 3rd century, St. Christopher was known for his incredible strength as he carried travelers safely across a dangerous river. One day, while carrying a child across the river, Christopher felt weighed down by an incredible force. When he reached the other shore, the child revealed himself to be Jesus and confirmed that Christopher had, in fact, carried the weight of the entire world on his shoulders. The name Christopher, in fact, means "Christ-bearer."
