Therese stands there in her Carmelite habit, haloed, holding a crucifix and an armful of roses, with her name lettered in an arc around her and the abbreviation P.F.U. for pray for us. An open rose fills each side arm, a veiled face is set into the terminal above, and a small shield closes the foot.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe reverse gives the rest of her. Roses repeat at all four ends, a coat of arms with palm branches sits above the panel, and five lines of raised text carry the promise she made as she was dying: \u003cem\u003eI WILL SPEND MY HEAVEN DOING GOOD UPON EARTH\u003c\/em\u003e. She died at twenty-four in 1897, unknown outside her convent, having taught what she called the little way, holiness in very small things done with great love.
