Both faces finish below in a wide openwork foot of scrolls and pierced hearts.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eColonial Andean silversmiths finished the back of a crucifix as fully as the front, on the understanding that a cross is never really hidden. Turned in the hand, laid on a table, held through a long prayer, every side of it is seen.
